About:
I am Dr. Allen L. Silvey Jr., DO, a pulmonologist and critical care physician with a passion for advancing pulmonary medicine and improving access to care. I founded MedCorps Asthma & Pulmonary Specialists, a multi-site independent practice that has grown to include six offices in New Jersey and Kentucky, and a multistate telemedicine network. My clinical leadership extends across multiple long-term ventilator programs, where I serve as Medical Director, and into research, where I am the Principal Investigator for several national clinical trials in asthma, COPD, and early detection of lung cancer.
In addition to direct patient care, I established an office laboratory performing high-complexity PCR diagnostics, along with in-office respiratory allergy testing, enabling faster and more precise evaluation for patients with asthma and allergic respiratory disease. These innovations allow us to deliver comprehensive, timely answers that improve treatment decisions and outcomes. My entrepreneurial focus has always been on blending technology, clinical research, and telehealth to create scalable models of care that reach patients where they are, including nursing facilities and underserved communities.
Before entering medicine, I proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years, and then in the Army National Guard for 16 years, where I developed the discipline, resilience, and leadership that continue to guide my practice and professional endeavors. That experience instilled in me a lifelong commitment to service to my country, my patients, and the communities I serve.
Above all, I remain committed to compassionate, patient-centered care, while fostering innovation and growth in pulmonary medicine. My goal is not only to treat disease but also to advance healthcare delivery through research, education, and new models of care.
